Buried Treasure: Writing Workshop for Kids | Ages 8-12 | January 25 - March 15 (Winter Session)

Thursday 4:30-6:00 pm

In this engaging workshop, students will explore mysterious realms, real and unreal, from outer space to under the sea, and turn them into stories and poems. Each week, students will read, imagine, write, and experiment with fun exercises. Students will get to share their work with each other, and learn how to give and receive insightful feedback.

Telling a Story: Creative Writing Workshop | Ages 18+ | January 25 - March 15 (Winter Session)

Thursday 6:30-8:30 pm

From the opening line to the final scene, this class will focus on crafting a story. Each weekly class will focus on a different element of storytelling in fiction and memoir, including location, narrative, conflict, characters, and dialogue. Over the course of the session, students will have a chance to share work-in-progress and receive feedback from classmates and instructor.

Unbound: Writing Workshop for Teens | Ages 13-17 | April 5 - May 17 (Spring Session)

In this class, students will experiment with different forms, voices, and styles in poetry and prose, especially those that feel risky, strange, or even taboo. Each week, students will read examples of contemporary writing and try out their own ideas. Make it New: Poetry Workshop | Ages 18+ | April 5 - May 17 (Spring Session)

Open to writers of any level, in this workshop, we will bravely transform the stuff of our lives into poetry. Each week students will read a wide variety of poetry, discuss the elements of craft, and create their own work with writing prompts and exercises. During the session, students will have a chance to share new work and receive feedback from classmates and instructor.
